Cooler Lids:

I use solid kiln dried old growth oak and teak for hatch covers and trim. This wood has been used for centuries on boats and has proven itself to be superior to other woods. I will use other woods per your request. I personally prefer the natural beauty of wood, but, will paint if you desire.

 Hatch Covers:

Depending on the size of the cover, I try to use only solid pieces (not glued together strips). The cover in the picture at right has the sides routed (grooved) to enable it to slide off. Chrome ketch latch is installed on the underside. All wood is finished with 4 coats of marine grade varnish or urethane (paint if requested).

Swim Platforms

The old teak swim step was not large enough for this customer.

Choice of Teak or Mahogany.

This beautiful platform was made from Philippine mahogany and finished with Sikins Marine Cetol. Mahogany can also be finished with spar varnish like the old Chris Crafts and Garwood runabouts.

This example is 73" x 16". Cost for creating this swim platform is $795.00. Please add $125.00 for stainless steel supports, hardware, and installation.

Please note, three step telescoping ladder is not included in the cost of the platform.

Here is another example of swimplatforms I build. This one replaced the plastic step on a 1989 Maxum 20' open bow. The back edge of the platform conforms to the radius of the transom. Please add additional $70.00 if your boats transom is not flat and has a radius outside from port to starboard.
